What is the single most important factor driving human evolution and the advancement of the human race? Is it down to Darwin’s idea of ‘survival of the fittest’ where species grow stronger by competing with each other? Is it caused by astronomical events that create spikes of radiation in the atmosphere that mutate our DNA?
Or could it possibly be down to deliberate influxes of cosmic energy from an intelligent and loving universe which influence our physiology and consciousness?
Maybe it is partly all of these. However, recent science suggests that cosmic and galactic energy could be a major, if not crucial, driving force in our evolution.
Perhaps we could also suggest that this cosmic energy is heightened at different points in time leading to massive shifts in consciousness and revolution in thought.
If we delve back into history, we see that throughout our existence on this planet there are many periods of sudden and accelerated evolution. There are numerous examples where cultural, artistic, philosophical, academic and political movements would suddenly crop up and spread like wildfire.
Ultimately, they would bring noble ideas and gifts to the world and because of them, the world would become a better place. Many of these sets of ideas would also create lasting impressions on the way we think and move forward as a race.
But where do these wonderful bursts of human talent come from? How do we explain these sudden peaks in human advancement? It is my belief that they are ignited by energetic pulses originating from our galaxy, touching the hearts and minds of men and women and prompting radical change in thought and action.

How Does Cosmic Energy Influence Consciousness?
But how would cosmic energy affect consciousness? Well, the answer might be linked to the phenomena of telepathy.
Much scientific research has been done on telepathy and the idea that human (and even animal) minds are able to receive thoughts from another person. Many scientists are now starting to find evidence to support this concept of telepathy as being a real phenomenon.
If this is true then we might propose that humans are like aerials, picking up information (like radio signals) that are being broadcast by other humans and living creatures but most significantly picking up the information stored within energies transmitted from our galaxy.
It is also possible that the energies transmitted are part of a plan created by a loving and intelligent universe to guide us to evolve and eventually become a civilisation of peace and harmony.
Changes In Our Galaxy and Their Links to Evolution
The link between changes in our galaxy and our human evolution is something that researcher David Wilcock discusses extensively in his book The Source Field Investigations.
He writes:
“Now, in our entire solar system, a similarly great source of energy appears to be streaming in from the galaxy’s own natural energy fields. It may be actively transforming earth, the sun, the planets and their moons. Since we are living on earth, we might also be feeling the effects of this transformation – through a transformation of consciousness as well as biology and physical matter. Dr. John Hawks revealed genetic proof that human evolution is now moving 100 times faster than it was five thousand years ago, with fully 7 percent of our genetic material having transformed during this time – and the rate is continually accelerating.”
He also explains that the changes our planet is going through could be down to our planet moving into a very highly charged area of the galaxy:
“It may be that all of the changes we have listed are caused by the solar system moving into a more highly charged area of energy in the galaxy. This appears to be directly affecting the behavior of our planets and their moons- showing an overall energetic increase as matter itself goes through a change of state, and the flow of time speeds up at the quantum level. If we are indeed moving into such a new zone in the galaxy, then we would expect to see an increase in the amount of dust and energized particles in our local interstellar medium- which is the area of the galaxy immediately surrounding our Sun’s magnetic field.”
Wilcock is not alone in making this link either. Researcher and Writer Andrew Collins argues:
“The effects of cosmic rays on our own genetics has led to mutations within the body, within the mind, the brain, that has altered our perception of reality… The correspondence between ancient cosmic ray levels and sudden evolutionary leaps and human technology and art are facts”.
So as we can see here, there is definitely evidence that cosmic energy has been influencing our evolution, if not directly guiding it. The question is when did these leaps occur?
I believe we can tell by looking, in detail, at a timeline of our human history. You see, when I was doing my degree in history, I began to notice something. Every few hundred years there would be a historical period where suddenly thinking, art and society would dramatically change.
I started to be able to identify exactly when a cosmic shift had taken place just by the changes in art, literature and philosophical thought that had occurred in that century. I actually think I had a certain knack for identifying these times!
As such, I have created a timeline of key points in our human history which, I believe, were influenced by these energies -each epoch marking a dramatic transformation in our consciousness.
The Beginning of Art
I think a good starting point to our investigation would be to look at art. The emergence of art marks a certain degree of development in pre-historic humanity and it is at this point that we can see how galactic energies were influencing our evolution by unlocking our creative and artistic abilities.
Complex art emerged 17,000 years ago during the Palaeolithic period and it really reached its height somewhere between 15000 and 8000 BCE. Before art, not much is known about what early humans were like apart from the information gathered from early tools and instruments that were created out of wood and stone.
Cave art is a great example of demonstrating this transition that was made by early humans from making primitive tools to actually developing a will to capture the images that they saw around themselves on a daily basis. Take a moment to think about what a leap that is in terms of human evolution!
The motivations for creating this art are not exactly known but many have suggested that it most likely would be for religious, communicative or even sexual purposes. Similarly, other artistic creations such as the Venus Figurines also have an unknown purpose but nonetheless demonstrate a huge leap forward in early human art. The accentuated buttocks, breasts, hips and vulva that are often present in Venus Figurines show a wonderful veneration of the female body and it is indeed possible that these sculptures could have been used in ceremonies or were icons of fertility.
I believe that this sudden emergence of art in human history could very well be down to cosmic energy that was showering the planet at this time, enlightening our consciousness and aiding us to step into our power as artistic creators.
The Sumerians: The Cradle of Civilisation
It is in Ancient Sumer in 4000 BCE that we see the first civilisation appear and in 3000 BCE the very first forms of writing appear: cuneiform.
What is particularly interesting is that the Sumerian language was a language isolate, meaning that it had no genealogical or ancestral relationship with any other languages in the region. As such, we are left to ponder what the origins of this language are.
Some proponents of Ancient Astronaut theory believe that this language could have originated off-world but that is a whole other story! Either way, it is quite remarkable how the Sumerian language developed in isolation. Something to ponder I think!
What marks Sumer as an early civilisation is that it was made up of individual city states that were divided by canals and boundary stones. There was also a patron god or goddess that ruled over each city-state. What’s more, the Sumerians were also expert astronomers, mathematicians, architects and skilled artists.
They also had their own hierarchy and social structure and a complex religious system. In Ancient Sumer, it is the first time that we see such a magnificent culture grace the Earth since the fall of Atlantis.
The Ancient Greeks: The Rise of Philosophy
Greek philosophy is what left ancient Greece as a distinctly unique time in history. This civilisation also had a lasting influence on later epochs in art, literature, mathematics, and philosophy. It is widely thought that philosophy originated in Ancient Greece and was a way to make sense of the world separate from religion which of course other great theocratic civilisations such as Ancient Egypt and Sumer did not do.
Some of the most important philosophical accomplishments of Greek philosophy and culture were the first mathematical formula discovered by the Philosopher Pythagoras and the implementation of Democracy in Athens.
Democracy was a particularly significant achievement as it meant for the first time that all free men of any social class could vote and decide who was in government. Despite being short-lived in Athens by only lasting for two centuries, the idea of Democracy has had one of the longest-lasting impacts on the western world.
Another incredible achievement made by the Greeks was their suggestion that the universe could actually be a multiverse. Democritus, a younger contemporary of Socrates, was the first to propose the idea of the multiverse with other planets sustaining life whilst his teacher, Leucippus, was the first to come up with the idea of the atomic universe.
It is interesting to wonder what prompted these noble philosophical, mathematic and political innovations and discoveries in such a short space of time. Not only that, but what caused these men to question the world around them in such a unique way and in a way that was particularly new? Could it be the result of galactic energies upgrading DNA and influencing consciousness?
The Renaissance: A Cultural Transformation
Skipping ahead a millennia to, in my opinion, one of the most significant cultural revolutions of the modern age, we find ourselves at the Renaissance. After the long period of cultural stagnation and decline that was seen during the medieval period, along comes the Renaissance which in literal terms means ‘rebirth’ and that’s exactly what it was.
Beginning in the 14th century, the Renaissance revived the wisdom and classical learning of the ancient cultures of Rome and Greece. It is also at this time that we see magnificent masterpieces emerge from artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Both artists incorporated the Golden Ratio or Phi as it is also known in their artwork to create works of stunning magnitude.
Da Vinci, in particular, is a great example of the innovation of this historical period. He not only created some of the most well-known and famous artworks of all time but also made progress in science, mathematics, anatomy, botany, and architecture.
His Virtruvian man is a perfect example of the sort of high consciousness (you could call it) thinking that started to appear at this time. It denoted the perfect proportions of man which Da Vinci believed to be an analogy for the workings of the universe. Not just this, Da Vinci also started experimenting with air travel which humanity only perfected in the 20th Century so it is definitely ahead of his time!
The incredible cultural transformation that took place during the Renaissance, in my eyes, is a perfect example of a sudden leap in consciousness that was most likely influenced by events happening far out into space.
The 18th Century: Revolution, Romanticism and the Rights of Man
Our next significant period of rapid evolution occurred in the latter part of the eighteenth century. It was a time of huge political and social upheaval as well as philosophical reflection. The events that happened during this century, along with some of the philosophical writings that burst upon the world were to have a lasting impact on the centuries that followed.
This century saw two revolutions: one American (1765-1783) and the other French (1789), as well as one of the most famous epochs in human thinking: the Age of Enlightenment.
Great philosophers emerged at this time such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Thomas Paine, Adam Smith, and Mary Wollstonecraft. Much of their philosophical writings concentrated on man’s (or women’s in Wollstonecraft’s case) position in society and re-evaluated much of society’s preconditioned beliefs on the common man.
For example, in Paine’s The Rights of Man he argued that all men had natural rights and in Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman she argued that all women should have equal rights to men. These were definitely revolutionary works and to a great degree echoed the political and social change that had recently occurred in America and France.
However, for me, the evolutionary leap of this particular century is really crystallised by the literary movement that occurred right towards the end of it – the Romantic period. The poetic works that happened during this period are known as some of the most significant literature to be written in England since Shakespeare.
It started with William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Lyrical Ballads and then was continued by Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, John Keats, and others. Much of the poetry reflected the revolutionary thought of the day and pushed for new ways of thinking about man.
The reason I believe this poetry to be significant to our investigation is because some of the ideas and perspectives it presents (particularly on nature and society) can be very easily compared to some of the ideas that modern spirituality values.
Wordsworth’s Tintern Abbey has always touched my heart and I feel particularly demonstrates the idea that all existence is actually one single connected consciousness that is the life force behind all of nature.
Take a look at this verse:
“And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns,
And the round ocean, and the living air,
And the blue sky, and in the mind of man,
A motion and a spirit, that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thought,
And rolls through all things.”
The sense I get here is that Wordsworth was having a deeply spiritual experience when these words were inspired and was truly connected to the Divine. He very beautifully and poetically demonstrates the idea of what we would call today ‘Unified Field Theory’ – an idea that there is a single loving consciousness (‘a presence’) that permeates and is responsible for all time, matter and energy.
To me this poetry is sublime and it is worth reading the whole poem to see how this sense of the Divine is present throughout. Not just this, the same feeling of heightened spirituality can be found in many other of Wordsworth’s and Coleridge’s poetry and to me, it seems clear that they were both very much conduits for these galactic energies that were hitting Earth at this time.
1960s: All You Need is Love
Again we skip ahead a few centuries to arguably one of the most important cultural transformations of the 20th century – the 1960s. Within this decade, we saw the sexual, spiritual, cultural and artistic repression of former decades and centuries disintegrate. New freedoms emerged for both women and men alike and the ghosts of the Second World War seemed to have lifted by this time.
What has been dubbed as the ‘Hippy Movement’, I feel really illustrates this shift in consciousness as youths suddenly turned their attention to promoting values such as equality, love, and peace.
Outrage was sparked when the war in Vietnam took a turn for the worse with many youths rebelling and protesting (on scale that the world had never seen before) against the atrocities they saw on the news. The youth of western countries such as America and Britain were taking a stand against violence and were actively trying to build a new world that lived by the principles of peace and harmony.
And whilst all this was happening, a musical and artistic revolution was taking place that shook the music industry to its core. Music started to be influenced by recreational drugs such as LSD that, although had health and psychological risks, allowed artists to create music that was completely different to any type of music before this time.
Not just this, artists such as The Beatles and in particular it’s frontman John Lennon were creating music that promoted peace and love. The song ‘All You Need is Love’ was aired on TV in 1967 all around the world with 400 million viewers. A few years later, Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono wrote the song ‘Imagine’ in 1971 which again upheld the same ideals of building a world based on harmony and love for each other.
Looking at the 1960s from a distance, it felt that the tide was turned in this decade. We never again experienced the repression that preceded the 60s and was left with a heritage of consciousness-expanding music, a tradition of summer rock festivals and idealistic hope for the new Age of Aquarius.
The 21st Century: Are We Going Through A Shift Right Now?
It is my belief that we are actually going through a big shift in consciousness right now. Possibly the biggest shift to ever take place on our planet!
As I mentioned earlier, David Wilcock explains that at the moment we are going into a very highly charged area of the galaxy which is affecting consciousness as well as our biology and planet. Not only this, but it would seem our whole solar system is going through an energetic upgrade at this time.
Our transition into a Golden Age can be found in many ancient prophecies and many of them spoke of great difficulties that we would have to face before we could enjoy a time of peace, prosperity, and harmony. I believe that we are going through this time right now.
However, despite the confusion and chaos of this century, there is an awakening happening within the collective of humanity. Every day people are waking up to the Divine reality of our universe and having their own spiritual awakening.
Huge breakthroughs in technology are constantly happening, beautiful and spiritually inspiring media productions are being made (both maintsream and alternative) and the question of whether we will have First Contact with an advanced extraterrestrial civilisation this century, is starting to look like a real possibility. There is no doubt about it, our thinking and attitudes are definitely changing in a positive way.
Even though we are facing huge challenges as a race, I do believe there is hope. It starts with realising our own inner Divine potential and being a channel for this high vibrational energy that is flooding our planet right now. As I have said in many of my previous articles, if we can do this then those small ripples of love and kindness will naturally be made.
